Expatriates & Foreign Investors Beware

When purchasing property from overseas it is extremely important to do your research and make sure that you don't just rush into buying something whilst on holidays.

I have seen many expats and foreign investors arrive on the shores of Australia for their one or two weeks holiday, and purchase a property for what we would say is well over fair market value.

Many overseas buyers are not aware that there is a service out there that specifically caters for buyers that are looking to purchase property in Australia.

These people are qualified buyers agents that will search, evaluate and negotiate property all on your behalf.

They will stop emotional impulse buying and make sure that you purchase the right property at the right price.

They do not sell property and will work in your best interests at all times so that you can make an informed decision on your property purchase.

Peter Kelaher Director of PK Property Search & Negotiators in Sydney says he has been doing work for expatriates and overseas buyers of which is 50% of his business for seventeen years now, and indicated how vulnerable an overseas buyer can be when here on vacation.

He says as soon as a real estate agent knows there is an overseas buyer involved the property's purchase price goes up 20%.

Peter said it is so important to have someone working on your side providing realistic purchase prices, and doing all the house- hunting for you, so that you can spend time with family and friends whilst on holidays not with real estate agents.
