Dulwich Hill is a residential suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, located 9 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Marrickville Council.

History

The suburb takes its name from the area of Dulwich in London, and experienced rapid growth in the early twentieth century after the arrival of the tramline to the area.

Transport Links

Dulwich Hill railway station is on the Bankstown railway line of the CityRail network and the area is also well served by buses.

Shopping and Recreation

There is a cluster of shops around the railway station and another, larger shopping area along Marrickville Road and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Arlington Recreation Ground is home to Dulwich Hills FC and the Stanmore Hawks. The Cooks River flows through the area and its banks provide a pleasant spot for a walk, jog or picnic.
