Glenorie, NSW – 2157
Glenorie is a suburb of Sydney, located 44 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government areas of The Hills Shire and Hornsby Shire. Glenorie is part of the Hills District.
History
Glenorie was named after a town in Scotland and was accepted because it had the support of the local progress association. The area was known as North Dural. The name caused confusion for the post office and in April 1894, local resident William Black petitioned for the change, suggesting the name Glenorie.

Glenorie’s residents will travel to Horsnby or Castle Hill for their shopping and sporting needs, although there is a school here; Glenorie Public School.
