Lavender Bay, NSW – 2060
Lavender Bay is a harbourside suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, located 3 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of North Sydney Council. Located on the west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Lavender Bay boasts extensive views of Sydney Harbour.
History
Lavender Bay was named after the bosun, George Lavender, from the prison hulk “Phoenix”, which was moored there for many years.
Transport Links
A ferry terminal is located in the bay, with regular services to Circular Quay in the CBD, and Lavender Bay is also well positioned for easy access to both the Pacific Highway and the Warringah Freeway.
