Lilli Pilli, NSW – 2229
Lilli Pilli is a small suburb in southern Sydney, located 26 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire.
History
Lilli Pilli was named for the Lilly Pilly, the native myrtles that grew on the point. Thomas Holt owned most of the land that stretched from Sutherland to Cronulla, including land on the point.
Transport Links
Neighbouring Caringbah has excellent rail links. The area is well served by buses.
Shopping and Recreation
There is a small group of shops here, adjacent to the Lilli Pilli Soccer Oval, home to the Lilli Pilli Football Club. Lilli Pilli Point Reserve is home to a fishing jetty and deep, salt water baths.
