Menai is a suburb in southern Sydney, located 29 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire.
History
The suburb was named after Menai Bridge, a town on the Menai Strait in Wales, Great Britain, by landowner and farmer Owen Jones.
Transport Links
The Bangor Bypass means that there is good road access, with many residents driving into neighbouring suburbs for bus and train links.
Shopping and Recreation
Menai Metro and Menai Marketplace are two major shopping developments in the town centre, offering supermarkets, bakers, speciality shops and cafes. An indoor sporting complex is located next to this.

Menai is home to Menai Primary School, Aquinas College and Holy Family Primary School.
