Rodd Point is a small suburb in the inner-west of Sydney, located 9 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Canada Bay.

History

The suburb is named after the Rodd Family who lived here for almost a century from the 1830s. The family was very large and they farmed the area until the land began to be built on for residential purposes and the area developed as a distinguished suburb.

Transport Links

Rodd Point is well served by buses into the City and CBD, and ferry services run from nearby Chiswick and Abbotsford.

Shopping, Recreation and Schools

Residents will travel to neighbouring Five Dock or Drummoyne for their shopping needs, as well as the vast array of facilities for sport and recreation including swimming, tennis and gyms. A good choice of schools can also be found in the area, with schools such as St Josephs and Riverview being only a short drive away.
