Seaforth is a suburb of northern Sydney, located 12 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of Manly Council and is part of the Northern Beaches region. Seaforth overlooks Middle Harbour and is linked south to Mosman by the Spit Bridge. To the west, Seaforth overlooks Sugarloaf Bay across to the suburbs of Northbridge, Castlecrag and Castle Cove. The Garigal National Park sits on the northern border.

History

Seaforth was named after Loch Seaforth and Seaforth Island in Scotland. The land in this area was once owned by Henry Halloran, who subdivided it in 1906.

Transport Links

Seaforth is well serviced by buses running into the City and CBD. Nearby Manly offers a regular public ferry service into Circular Quay and is popular with commuters. A short drive across the Spit Bridge takes you into Mosman and over to the City.

Shopping and Schools

The suburb has a range of shops in the Seaforth Shopping Village and is also only a short drives to the surf shops of Manly and the more extensive selection of stores at the large Warringah Mall. Seaforth Primary School and Balgowlah Boys High School are both in the area.
