Westleigh, NSW – 2120
Westleigh is a suburb of Sydney, located 27 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of Hornsby Shire.
History
Westleigh derived its name from its location, directly west of Thornleigh. Development as a residential suburb began from the 1950s, following subdivision.
Transport Links
The neighbouring suburbs of Thornleigh and Pennant Hills have excellent rail links, and the area is well served by buses.
Shopping and Recreation
Westleigh Village Shopping Centre is home to all the daily essentials including a supermarket, newsagent, day care centre, dentist and a petrol station. The Oakleigh sports oval can be found here, along with Ruddock Park, home to the annual ‘Carols by Candlelight’ service and summer outdoor movies.
