Whale Beach is a northern beachside suburb of Sydney, located 40 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Pittwater Council, in the Northern Beaches region.

History

The area was originally part of land granted to James Napper in 1816. During the 19th century, a few Europeans and Chinese lived at Snapperman Beach catching and drying fish.

Some of Sydney’s most expensive real estate can be found along the golden shores of Whale Beach, and the area is popular with Sydneysiders looking for a break from city life. Nearby Newport and Avalon offer a great range of shopping, dining and recreational facilities, as well as an impressive list of schools only a short drive away.
