Near record numbers of Sydney homes are scheduled to go under the hammer this Super Saturday weekend, as homeowners try to avoid a clash with football finals and the Labour Day long weekend, as well as the commencement of the public school holidays.
The scheduled number of auctions (close to 850) is still not as high as record breaking 2015 Super Saturday, but total auction numbers for the month of September are also set to be near record highs. Manly is the most popular suburb in Sydney for auctions this weekend with 11 listed, closely followed by Randwick and Lane Cove each with 10, Guildford and Ashfield each with 9 and a number of suburbs with 8 auctions scheduled including Pymble, Dee Why, Newtown and Baulkham Hills.
The west (with 54), north west (with 53), Canterbury Bankstown (with 47), south west (with 43), and the central coast (with 15) account for a quarter of the total auctions scheduled for the weekend, so bear this in mind when you are looking at overall auction results from the weekend, as all of these markets are registering much lower clearance rates than the inner west, north shore, east and northern beaches markets.
In any event, this weekend will be a good test for the Sydney market for this first phase of Spring,
