Living in Beaconsfield

Beaconsfield is a small inner-city suburb of Sydney, located 5 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney.

History

The suburb was named after Benjamin Disraeli, Lord Beaconsfield, a British prime minister during the reign of Queen Victoria. The area was part of the suburb of Alexandria and was officially gazetted on the 10th June 1977.

Transport Link

Green Square railway station can be found in the northern area of the suburb, and the area is well serviced by state buses to the CBD.

Shopping and Schools

Botany Road provides a few small shops for every day needs, with larger shopping areas to be found in neighbouring suburbs. Sydney Boys High School can be found nearby as well as a range of both public and private primary and secondary educational facilities.
