Living in Castlecrag
Castlecrag is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, located 8 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Willoughby.
Castlecrag is a suburb of historical significance that is bounded to the north, east and south by Middle Harbour and to the west by the Eastern Valley Way. The suburb continues to resist overdevelopment and much of the surrounding bushland has been dedicated as a reserve, and enjoys a pleasant, waterside feel.
History
Castlecrag was originally planned by Walter Burley Griffin, who named the suburb after a towering crag of rock overlooking Middle Harbour, known locally as Edinburgh Castle.

Shopping and Recreation
If you’re looking to live an active lifestyle, Castlecrag is a great place to do it, with many bushwalks and cycle paths, and The Castlecrag Sports Club offering court hire, tennis coaching and club tennis. The Haven Amphitheatre hosts all sorts of cultural events, including Christmas carols, movies, fitness classes and a Jazz festival. The greater Willoughby area also offers good swimming, sailing, and golf facilities. The Quadrangle Shopping Village in Edingburgh Road features a large supermarket and specialty shops.

Castlecrag is within a short distance to a range of both public and private schools in the neighboring suburbs of Castle Cove, Willoughby and Chatswood. Less than 3km away is the large Royal North Shore Hospital.
