Living in Cottage Point
Cottage Point is a suburb of northern Sydney, located 38 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Warringah Council and is part of the North Shore region. Cottage Point is located in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park at the confluence of Cowan Creek and Coal and Candle Creek. It is accessible by Cottage Point Road off Liberator General San Martin Drive.
History
Separated from the urban life by 10km of serene parkland and bush, Cottage Point was only accessible by boat until 1934 when a bridle track to Ankuna Bay was formed. This lead the way for roads to be developed to the area.
Facilities and Schools
Sydney’s smallest locality, Cottage Point has little over 50 homes, in which residents and holiday makers can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and incredible water views, with only a 35 minute drive to the City. The local kiosk is a great place for coffee or to pick up supplies, and Cottage Point Restaurant offers an exclusive, a-la-carte dining experience. Kayaks and boats are also available to rent, with boating and relaxing being the main attractions of the area. Nearby Terrey Hills, Cowan and Duffys Forest provide residents with a good selection of schools, shops and cafes.
