Living in Mona Vale
Mona Vale is a suburb in northern Sydney, located 28 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre of the local government area of Pittwater Council. Mona Vale is also part of the Northern Beaches region.
History
The land where the suburb of Mona Vale now sits was granted to Robert Campbell in 1813, and the first survey done in 1814. It is thought that Mona Vale in Scotland was the inspiration for the name.
Transport Links
Mona Vale sits on the junction of two major arterial roads in the Northern Beaches, Mona Vale Road and Pittwater Road. This makes for excellent road connections by bus and car.
Shopping and Recreation
Mona Vale has a good variety of shopping and dining facilities including two large supermarkets. A golf course, skate park, public library, RSL club and a leafy park can also be found here. There are two beaches, one of which has a children’s pool and lap pool at one end. Mona Vale Hospital can also be found here and is one of the largest in the area.

Mona Vale is home to a number of schools, including Mona Vale Public School, Sacred Heart Primary School, Pittwater High School and Mona Vale Education Centre, as well as a number of pre-school and day care facilities.
