Living in Tennyson Point

Tennyson Point is a suburb of Sydney, located 13 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Ryde and is part of the Northern Suburbs area. Tennyson Point sits on the northern bank of the Parramatta River on a peninsula positioned between Morrisons Bay and Glades Bay.

History

Tennyson Point takes its name from the Tennyson Estate, named after the poet Alfred Tennyson, which was subdivided in 1887. The suburb was originally called Tennyson before it was renamed Tennyson Point by the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales in 2001.

The area has excellent road links and is well served by buses.

Shopping and Recreation

Neighbouring Gladesville provides a hub of shopping just a short drive away, as well as a good selection of restaurants, cafes and schools. The large Olympic Park is close by, providing a great space for jogging, walking and cycling.
