Living in Connells Point

Connells Point is an suburb in southern Sydney, located 20 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is part of in the local government area of the Municipality of Kogarah, in the St George area.

History

Connells Point takes its name from the geographical formation beside Connells Bay, on the Georges River and was named after Charles Daniel O'Connell who held land in the area. In the early days, the bay was used for shipbuilding and today is often ranked as the most expensive suburb in the Municipality of Kogarah.

Transport Links

Connells Point Road follows through the centre of the suburb and into Hurstville where there are express rail and bus links into the City and CBD.

Recreation

There are a number of parks and recreational grounds here, including Donnelly Park, Poulton Park and Connells Point Reserve. Connells Point Sailing Club can also be found here.
