Denistone East is a suburb in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney, located 16 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Ryde.

History

The Wallumedegal Aboriginal tribe lived in the area between the Lane Cove River and Parramatta River, which was known as Walumetta. Once European settlers arrived, the name was changed, and the suburb was named after a home built in the area called Dennistone.

The area is very well serviced by a number of bus routes, provided by Sydney Buses.

Shopping

Denistone East is located near Macquarie Centre, a large regional shopping centre, and nearby suburbs have larger commercial areas such as Eastwood, West Ryde and Ryde including the newly opened Top Ryde City, which are all within a short drive.
