Yowie Bay, NSW – 2228
Yowie Bay is a suburb in southern Sydney, located 24 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire.
History
Yowie is an Aboriginal name meaning ‘place of echoes’ and the suburb takes its name from the small bay on the north shore of the Port Hacking estuary.

Nearby Miranda provides good rail links and the area is well served by buses.
Facilities
Although the suburb is mainly residential there are a few local shops including a greengrocer, liquor shop and cafe. There is also a marina and the Yowie Bay Public School.
