In most cases "Buyer's Blues" occurs once you have committed yourself to a property realising that this is not fallacy, you really do have a serious commitment in regards to loan payments, upkeep etc.
Buyer's Blues can never really be avoided but they can be controlled should you base the majority of your decision when purchasing a property not on emotion, but on factual information and suitability to your needs at that time.
There is no doubt that when purchasing a home there is a certain amount of emotion that is incorporated in the sale. I find the best way to decide if the home really suits your needs is to sit down with pen and paper and write down all the negatives and positives.
If your list calculates at 75% or more on the positive side you should think very seriously about purchasing that property.
The other 25% of the positives will appear once you have moved in and really made it your home. Sometimes waiting for the perfect property to appear will only freeze you into inactivity, allowing the currents of circumstances to carry you farther away from what you desire.
The right buying decision will move you closer to what you really want. In life, there will always be risks and there are no guarantees. Worthwhile decisions being the biggest are at times also the hardest. These can never be effectively made based on the fear of failure. In my experience very few buyer's who commit to saying “yes” ever regret the decision. Most in fact, find they are more and more satisfied.
