Once again, Sydney's Lower North Shore held strong in the weekend's auctions, with an auction clearance rate above 75% across 53 auctions. The City and East markets also performed strongly with 3 out of every 4 properties selling under the hammer, and the Upper North Shore bounced back from slower recent numbers to report a healthier 65% clearance rate. The overall clearance rate, however, is still being dragged down by sluggish Western suburban markets.
Overall auction numbers were also down to 600 from 700 on the weekend from the previous week, with the start of the NSW school holidays, and will continue to be a distraction in coming weeks.
