Living in Ingleside

Ingleside is a suburb in northern Sydney, located 28 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government areas of Pittwater Council and Warringah Council. Ingleside is part of the Northern Beaches region, about 2 kilometres from the coast at Mona Vale.

History

The suburb takes its name from a mansion called Ingleside House, built in the 1880s by Baron Von Beirenm, who specialised in gunpowder and explosives, founding a factory called the Australian Gunpowder and Explosives Manufacturing Company. Powder Works Road takes its name from this factory.

Transport Links

Ingleside is located near Mona Vale Road, which provides quick transport links around the area by car and bus.

Recreation and Schools

The area has a large amount of bushland, lending to the areas quiet, rural feel and  is great for bushwalking and jogging. Less than 2km is the beach at Mona Vale. Ingleside is home to the Bahá'í House of Worship, the decorative building has stood there since the 1960s. The Armenian private school Hamazkaine A&S Galstaun College can also be found here.
